“Do you smoke?”
“No.”
“Do you drink?”
“Errr. No.”
“Then why the fuck are you in advertising?”
I looked at KSD with a guilt feeling that I don’t smoke nor drink and I am earning my daily bread through this noble profession (they say advertising is truth well told). And also feeling a bit lucky that he stopped at that. I am frequented by these questions at parties (guessing what I am doing there? Finishing the touchings and pulp juices), discussions at Koshy’s and Volga, and like.
What people are all the more confused is that I am a Malayalee advertising professional who doesn’t smoke nor drink. They say I am an original piece and should be kept in glass at the museum.
My room-mate Mustaq thinks that advertising people are addicted to grass. Sreesha thinks I will not take the road walked by a smoker. Fami is confused whether I am showing off or not. Suresh constantly keeps poking to me get an obvious answer as to why I don’t drink. And back to Mustaq, he doesn’t understand my occasional puffs and at the same time, lengthy speeches and advices, that I give to Ravi aka Gaddar on quitting the habit. Then there is Rafeeq, another non-smoker, who comes to me and quitely asks,
“Hey! How about a smoke?”
I grin. My looks confuse him and I ask
“When was the last time we did that?”

Dude! There's nutin to feel bad/confused/guilty about. Trust me, if someone thinks there's sumtin wrong wit u, its simply coz they're plain J! :) Got that??

When did you last smoke ??? this is the question i ask myself these days. there was a time when i used to think that god, i can never quit cigrattes, I mean its been years that i have started smoking, I didn want to convince myself that i can quit the cancer stick
(advertisng profession confirms my feeling). Its been 4 months now that I haven smoke cause i live with my parents now :) Ok Is this is called writng a Blog?? its my first time!!!

i hate smokers because they do not care if others are feeling suffocated. such anti-social-so called socialites!
who made the rule a malayali in advertising( or any field, for that matter) must drink, smoke and dance except delivering his/her job on time!!
why i do not smoke?
because i have nothing to burn!
now about drinking! there is nothing compared to pure water not even tender coconut water of kerala!
average malayali(who is this?) mind set insist if you drink liquor others must know about it!
so is the dirty drama!
anyway it is all up to each individual's likes and dislikes which we must respect, i guess.whether you drink, smoke or dance!!!
but personally i keep my smoking friends away till they finish their burning break times!
hmmmm..well Tobacco is injurious to health and Alcohol is slow killer, we the public know that well. But not my mom!! she say her only son Mushi is lethally injurious to family and A vile killer of precious time and totally impossible to shut him down. SO that means, the only things that can kill is Ciggies and Booze.
